INTRODUCTION

“Riverscapes IN FLUX” is an eco-cultural art project conceptualized and organized by the Goethe-Institut in Vietnam. The Goethe-Institut invited young artists from Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia and Philippines to reflect in their work the ecological as well as socio-economic and cultural changes that the riverscapes in these countries are currently experiencing. Supported by experienced curators, 17 artworks have been created: multimedia installations and photo series, videos and object installations. The Exhibition celebrated its opening in Hanoi and was subsequently shown in Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Yogyakarta, Manila, accompanied by film screenings and various educational and cultural activities.
