Ping Pong, as an artistic exchange program, has served as a platform for artists from different backgrounds and practices to connect and collaborate, fostering mutual understanding and sharing among communities and across historical and cultural contexts. Moreover, it has created an experimental environment that encourages research, dialogue, and critical thinking, aiming to deconstruct and reconstruct theoretical issues and practical methodologies in performance art; to define the role of this discipline within the broader context of the arts, particularly contemporary art; and to explore the role of performance art in social development.

Through workshops and discussions, the program delves deep into the biological foundations of Performance art, exploring the ‘performativity’ of constituent elements such as space, time, sound, smell, taste, and rhythm. The diverse practices also open up new possibilities for dialogue between the human body and various aspects of contemporary living, thereby re-examining the relationship between humans, nature, and society.

After 10 days of continuous activities with 11 workshops guided by project artists, in-depth discussions, field trips and spontaneous interactive performances, the “Ping Pong – Site-specific Art Performance Project” ends with a series of performances on July 13 – 14, 2024.
