“The strangeness will wear off and I think we will discover the deeper meanings in modern art.”
Jackson Pollock
Beginning in the second half of the 19th century and continuing through the 1970s, Modern Art reflects the revolution in artist’s aesthetic thought and worldview, where individuality and individual freedom are liberated from the conservative rules and concepts of society to bring new diversed and unprecedented artistic experimental practice.
Following the Art talk series “FLOWING/CHẢY”, this is a journey to learn and discover the ways of seeing, understanding, and expressing of modern art in relation to historical contexts and society. The talk is led by artist Trần Lương and the moderator – Dr. Nguyễn Đức Thành to help participants understand more about Modern Art, its values and the role of this period in the history of art.
The theme “Modern Art – Where individuality and artistic freedom are liberated” includes 03 sessions with the first one: “New light source in painting”.
*The event is organized by APD Center for Art Patronage and Development, with the support from UPGen Vietnam.
